Being respectful of others is a golden rule if we want to become better people, and it also relates to basically every other point on this list. It goes beyond treating others with good manners and listening to them, although those are important elements of respect. Respect is also about acknowledging differences in a cordial way.
It’s important to be respectful of other people’s time, ideas, experiences and lifestyles. By showing respect, we acknowledge others and recognize the importance of treating others with integrity. It doesn’t mean you have to flatter them or agree with their opinions. You can respectfully disagree. But if you do this while treating the other person with dignity, you set the example of how you expect to be treated in return
As we all know the administration of Governor SEYI MAKINDE is people friendly and welfare based as HIS EXCELLENCY has been making efforts to bring tremendous development to the state through his people oriented agenda such as free education policy for all, healthy and clean environment, strict security for all and sundry and the green revolution programme i.e Agricultural.
Education they say is the bedrock of development. This has been the major focus of HIS EXCELLENCY, he has earmarked allocation and backed it up with effort to uplift the standard of education in the public school and this has been imbibed at the lacal government level.
It’s a common says that today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, surprisingly enough, those that the mantle of leadership of tomorrow will ene handed over to have been brainwashed to belong to one cult group or the other.
This is the reason while His Excellency the executive Governor of the state, Engr. Abiodun oluwaseyi Makinde launched the campaign to sensitize students in all our schools about the danger inherent in cultism.
May I therefore use this medium to educate our tomorrow’s leaders to shun call by any faceless individuals asking them to join cultism.
The essence of joining any organizations are the benefits derivable from such organization, if we can not see any notable individual in this country who have become famous by being a cult member why do we want to put chance of our tomorrow leaders on line
It’s a know fact that ex-convict cannot vote or be voted for to become a local government chairman, state Honourable, federal Honourable, Governor or president in this country, it’s on this note that you should strive to be good ambassador of your individual parent in order to become Nigeria ambassador.
At this juncture, I want to call on all parents to do double their efforts to know who their children are outside homes while teachers should not limit their power to the teaching alone.
On a final note, I implore all students to identify with societies and clubs that can be of positives benefits to them such as literary and debating club, rotary club and religions based group.
Once again, I really appreciate the visionary decision of his EXCELLENCY for organizing the programme to inspire the secondary school students to avoid joining bad gangs and creat a peaceful atmosphere in our school environment.
*God blessed you all.*
